The 3rd EEIC'25 International Conference will be held at Abderrahmane MIRA University in Bejaia, Algeria. Located 220 km east of Algiers, Bejaia is a Mediterranean port city with a rich historical and cultural heritage. Founded during the Roman era as Saldae, it flourished under Berber dynasties, notably the Hammadids in the 11th century, who made it a vibrant capital. It was a major intellectual and scientific center, welcoming scholars such as Ibn Khaldun, Al-Ghubrini, Sidi Boumediene, and others. Its name is associated with beeswax candles, which were exported to Europe under the name “bougie”. A true crossroads of civilizations, Bejaia has been influenced by the Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, and Spanish. It is home to historical landmarks such as the Casbah, the Sidi Soufi Mosque, and Fort Bordj-Moussa. Surrounded by mountains and beaches, it boasts exceptional natural landscapes, including the Monkey Peak (Pic des Singes) and Cape Carbon (Cap Carbon). Today, Bejaia is an important industrial and port hub, featuring one of the largest oil ports in the Mediterranean. It retains a strong cultural identity, marked by its traditions, crafts and historical heritage, making it a city both rooted in its past and looking to the future.
